Pulling onto the shoulder should never leave you feeling exposed. Mazda safety now reaches beyond the vehicle, warning approaching drivers in real time when you are stopped for roadside help. AutoNation Mazda Carlsbad believes that kind of awareness belongs on every road trip, long before you ever need it.
What Is the New Roadside Alert System?
Announced on Aug. 27, 2026, the collaboration links AAA Roadside Assistance with connected vehicle safety leader HAAS Alert. HAAS Alert operates Safety Cloud®, which sends real-time warnings through vehicle dashboards, navigation apps, and smartphones. Its Safety Cloud® Protect service now activates when Mazda drivers request roadside help.
What Happens When You Request Help?
Request assistance through the MyMazda App or a toll-free call, and AAA dispatches a local affiliated service provider to you. Simultaneously, the AAA partnership with HAAS Alert sends Slow Down, Move Over alerts to drivers approaching your vehicle.
How Do Approaching Drivers Get the Warning?
Alerts appear on Safety Cloud®-connected vehicles and navigation apps, right on screens drivers already watch. The warning signals a stopped vehicle ahead, giving them time to slow down and change lanes. This in turn gives you more room while you’re waiting for roadside assistance.
Where Does It Work?
The feature is available now on eligible Mazda vehicles with 24/7 emergency roadside assistance. Alerts reach drivers in supported markets using a connected vehicle or compatible navigation app. Alongside the existing suite of Mazda safety technologies, the collaboration extends the brand’s approach to safety beyond the vehicle itself.
